Species: Grizzly Bear | Location: Katmai, United States Of America
This photo was taken on the NatHab "Alaska Grizzly Encounter: Kodiak to Katmai" trip this past July. Mama Bear was spooked by another bear and began running towards us with her cub. They weren't stopping until our wonderful guide (Brad Josephs) used his calm "bear whisperer" voice and calmly told them that they needed to stop. And they did! No one was scared...just excited that we were getting an action shot!
About The Photographer
Upon retirement I thought it would be fun to learn photography. We'd recently moved to Amelia Island, Florida where nature was abundant and I wanted to try to capture that beauty. I soon found that I also enjoyed photographing humans and animals, especially those that evoked heart-warming or heart-wrenching reactions. Today I absolutely adore my wildlife subjects and the challenge of capturing emotional moments with them. I love being able to combine traveling the world with my love of photography, and am very grateful that I've had some wonderful opportunities to do so.Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards!
