Species: Lioness And Wildebeest | Location: Camp Kalahari, Botswana
Shot was taken at Camp Kalahari on the Botswana Family trip on the afternoon game drive on June 12, 2023. The shot was a complete surprise and was unexpected. We stopped to observe some lion cubs, and the guide knew the mother was close by. We waited for her to make an appearance when suddenly she appeared behind some bushes in hot pursuit of a Wildebeest. I instinctively grabbed my camera and got off six shots. This was the best of the six and is the best picture I have ever taken on any trip. And the Wildebeest got away, barely.
