Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest

Species: Coastal Brown Bear (Ursus Arctos Gyas) | Location: Kulic River Katmai, United States Of America

Mother coastal brown bear brought over a salmon from the Kulic river to her cub. We stopped the raft and got out to photograph them from a safe distance where they were unphased by our presence and watched they proceed to eat while we watched. They were kind enough to hang around and catch and eat several more during our stay.

About The Photographer

This was our 6th nat hab trip and our second to Katmai. We also went to India and Churchill and Yellowstone and Patagonia. So far Katmai is hands down our favorite. I have been an amateur wildlife photographer for 8 years and a photography enthusiast for 40 years. I plan on doing photography more full time starting next year and will hopefully travel with nat hab many more times in the future.
