Species: Jaguar, Giant Otter | Location: Pantanal, Brazil
What an adrenaline rush! We were closely following a family of giant otters and as we watched them emerge from their den and greet each other one of the females got out of the water and was looking up at the riverbank when a jaguar caming flying down and grabbed her. The other otters realized what was happening, but it was too late. The jaguar had her in his grip and up the bank before any of them could really fight back but you can see the other otters alarm and defensive posturing.
