Species: Coastal Brown Bear (Ursus Arctos Gyas) | Location: Brooks Falls Katmai, United States Of America
Mother coastal brown bear walking with her two COY (cubs of the year) along the lake near Brooks falls campground in Katmai national park. We started watching them walk towards us from 100+ yards away, however they were closing in on the minimum range of 50 yards allowed by the ranger before then finally got into line, shoulder to shoulder and all looked up simultaneously for this shot to happen then we immediately moved off the trail to let them pass comfortably.
About The Photographer
This was our 6th nat hab trip and our second to Katmai. We also went to India and Churchill and Yellowstone and Patagonia. So far Katmai is hands down our favorite. I have been an amateur wildlife photographer for 8 years and a photography enthusiast for 40 years. I plan on doing photography more full time starting next year and will hopefully travel with nat hab many more times in the future.Vote for this photo in the Nat Hab's 2024 Guest Photo Contest People’s Choice Awards!
