Species: Blue Throated Bee Eater | Location: Danum Valley, Malaysia
We were sitting outside our room, overlooking a field in Danum Valley, Borneo. About ten blue-throated bee eaters were constantly flying back and forth, between the field and surrounding vegetation. Each bird would bring back an insect such as this red dragonfly. The bee eaters would perch on a dead branch about five feet off the ground, before then going down into their underground nests. They would then reappear shortly thereafter, to go off in search of the next meal.
