Watching the bears at Brooks Falls chomping down salmon is an amazing experience. While I have many shots of bears catching and eating salmon, this image is one of my favorites. After catching the salmon, the bear plunked down in the river to dine. The bear clearly loved its dinner and left nothing to waste.

About The Photographer

I learned photography on the job. A small town newspaper hired me right out of college as a reporter/photographer. I certainly knew how to write, but couldn't then claim much expertise in photography -- or the required darkroom work. My subsequent jobs took me away from journalism, but I never left my cameras behind.
