Backlite Curiosity
Location: Kalahari Dessert, Botswana
An early AM visit to a Meerkat colony in the Kalahari Desert was perfectly timed as the members emerged from their underground burrows to feed. The curiosity on this one's face as he checked me out, combined with the ethereal backlighting of the rising sun, is the reason I decided to submit this photo.
