bengal tiger, Ranthambhore National Park, India
Watching You

Species: Bengal Tiger | Location: Ranthambhore National Park, India

Nearing the end of the day on a very hot April afternoon, our guides decided to head to a waterhole they knew of in a final attempt to find a tiger. We arrived at the waterhole and settled in to wait on a nearby road close to the water. Within 10 minutes we spotted a young male tiger approaching. While keeping a close eye on us, he entered the water, laid down, and began drinking. He stayed at the water hole for 10-12 minutes then casually rose, waded out of the water, and strolled on down the dirt road. We followed for a few minutes but were nearing time to exit the park, so we were forced to turn away and head to the gate. It was an amazing experience!
