Lioness Sisterbond
Species: Lion | Location: Okavango Delta/Santawani Preserve , Botswana
This was a magical afternoon. Two lionesses were relaxing in the late afternoon sun. One had 2 cubs around 2 months of age and the other had 2 cubs 4 months of age. They each nursed their cubs and when they had enough they came together and loved on each other. They groomed each other and expressed so much love. You could feel the intense bond they shared as they raised their families together. It reminded me of sharing the day with a best friend.
